Mrs. Shane Jackson Smith, age 32, of Gainesville passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a courageous battle with breast cancer. A memorial service is scheduled for noon Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Evans will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service on Thursday. Mrs. Smith was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a 1993 graduate of Gainesville High School, and was employed with Coleman and Chambers LLP for the past eight years. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Larry Shannon Smith, Gainesville; daughter, Sara Claire Smith, Gainesville; parents, Phillip E. and Barbara Jackson, Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Rob Heath, Dawsonville, Stacie and Rick McCune, Gainesville, and Susan and Randy Cole, Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Heather Higgins; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Kathy Smith, Gainesville; nieces, Camryn Cole and Isabelle Higgins, both of Gainesville; special aunt and uncle, Lounette and Dwight Ryals, Whittier, N.C.; special friend, Sharon Sosebee, Gainesville; and a host of other friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to any local Suntrust Bank in the name of The Smith Family Fund.
