Decatur<!--Decatur-->Funeral for Selma Smith, 83, of Decatur will be today, April 23, 2007, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Eddie Scheler officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Mrs. Smith, who died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Cullman to Oscar and AveLena Davis Vogel. She was a member of St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church where she served on the Alter Guild. She loved children and enjoyed playing the organ. Her husband, Boyce E. Smith, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Helen Millar of Cullman; brother, Eddie Vogel and wife, Wynema, of Gardendale; brother-in-law, Doyle Smith and wife, Dorothy, of Danville; sister-in-law, Polly Smith of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her friends at St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church.
