Scott G. Williams KINGSTON- Scott G. Williams of Kingston, has passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, peacefully with his family by his side after a valiant struggle with a lengthy illness. Scott Williams was born in Scranton, Pa. on Dec. 30, 1950, the son of Paul Williams and Grace Lisette. While attending the Calvert Hall College in Baltimore, Md., Scott was Captain of the football and baseball teams winning their State Championships. After graduating from Calvert Hall, Scott attended the University of Notre Dame where he played for the Fighting Irish and had the opportunity to play in the Cotton Bowl. Afterwards, Scott joined the U.S. Marine Corps and played tight end on the football team for three years. Scott went on to play semi-professional football in Scranton but due to suffering a neck fracture, he was forced to retire from the game. Scott was happily married to his wife of 26 years, Linda Casparino Williams, whom he married in Aspen, Colo. in 1987. Later in life, Scott found a passion for the game of golf and went on to become a PGA Certified Professional. Both a ski instructor at Hunter Mountain and Assistant Pro at the Rondout Golf Club in Accord, N.Y., Scott leaves behind many students, friends and colleagues. Scott is survived by his wife, Linda Casparino Williams and a large and loving extended family. He was pre-deceased by both his parents and sister, Susan. Scott had a huge and winning personality, a zest for life and all things sports, and was loved by all and will be truly missed. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Scott’s life will be announced at a future date. Cremation arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V.
