Scott K. Carter, 47, of Riverview, FL, suddenly passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, at his home. He was born August 4, 1961, in Plattsburgh, NY. Scott retired in 2001 after 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy. He was currently employed by Granite Services International Inc. in Tampa, FL. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8189 in Homosassa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Edwards Carter. Survivors include his father, Chester Carter and wife Irene of Homosassa, FL; sister, Cheryl Carter of Burlington, VT; brother, Chester Carter Jr. and wife Brenda of Hanceville, AL; brother, Roland Carter and wife Amy of Plattsburgh, NY; sister, Linda Lucia and husband Roger of West Chazy, NY; nieces Amanda, Genevieve, Nichole and Breezy; and nephews, Chad and Ty. He was a great uncle of three. He leaves a number of devoted friends that will surely miss him. A Memorial Service for Scott will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at VFW Post No. 8189 in Homosassa. Inurnment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
