JOHNSON, Sarah Spradlin born in Newnan, GA March 31, 1924, to parents, Landon and Kathleen Spradlin. She graduated from Newnan High School in 1940, and continued her education in Atlanta, graduating from a business school. Sarah passed away at Morton Plant Mease Hospital on Feb. 13, just minutes from Valentine's Day. Sarah married J.B. Johnson Jr. on March 12, 1945. Sarah had one brother, Dr. Landon Spradlin, who preceded her in death. Sarah was a devout Christian and volunteered for service at all the church's she was a member. She taught Sunday School and always wanted to work with the older people. She made many friends over the years and today her husband calls her his angel. In 1964, she and her husband moved to Clearwater from Atlanta and have remained in the same house since that time. From the time she married in Newnan, she lived in Atlanta, Charlotte, NC and Clearwater. As she always said, "Clearwater is my home forever." In 1966, she joined Trinity Presbyterian Church and remained an active member all through the years. She served as an officer in Sunday School, a greeter, a wonderful visitor to the homebound and an elected deacon. She believed in being part of the solution in all of her daily life. Sarah's health problems started in 2006, when she came down with the Shingles, from that time until her death, she was constantly in pain. Sarah is survived by her husband, J.B. and would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 12th. Other survivors include, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Todd of Newnan, GA and Caroline Spradlin of Chatham, VA. In addition, she has one brother-in-law and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorial Service will be Saturday, Feb. 20th at 3 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2001 Rainbow Dr, Clearwater. Contributions may be sent to Trinity Presbyterian Church.
