Athens - Sarah Colmore Adams died at her residence in Athens, GA at age 97 on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006. Born in 1908 at Sewanee, TN, Sarah Colmore Adams was a longtime resident of Lexington, KY. She was the daughter of Sarah Walker Palmer of Fernandina, FL and the Rt. Rev. Charles Blayney Colmore, Episcopal Bishop. Mrs. Adams was a graduate of St. Catherineís School, Richmond, VA and was a decorative arts painter. She was married to Thomas Tunstall Adams, deceased. Mrs. Adams was a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Lexington. Mrs. Adams is survived by five children, 18 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a sister. Surviving children are Mr. James Thompson Adams, Porter Falls, WV, Mrs. Charlotte Adams Moore, Athens, GA, Mr. Samuel Tunstall Adams, Stanford, KY, Mr. Thomas Tunstall Adams, Jr., Athens, GA, and Mrs. Terrell Adams Atwood, Lexington, KY. Her surviving sister is Mrs. Margaret Colmore Dunn, Providence, RI. Her eldest daughter, Mrs. Sarah Adams Ellis, Lexington, is recently deceased. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Lexington, KY by the Rev. Donna Barr assisted by the Rev. Michael Ward. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd., is in charge of arrangements.
