SARAH SIMPSON ALLEN ROCKLEDGE Sarah Simpson Allen, 95, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Wuesthoff Progres sive Care Center in Viera. Sarah was born in Gower, Missouri, but lived most of her life in McDowell County, West Virginia. She attended Concord College and was a school teacher as a young woman. She and her husband of almost 60 years, Jeffrie Lee Allen, who preceded her in 1997, owned and operated McDowell Auto Parts in Welch, WV, for most of their married life. They sold the business and retired to Rock ledge, FL, in 1989, after vaca tioning here for many years. Sarah and Jeff were avid golfers and played as long as their health permitted. They were strong supporters of the First United Methodist Church of Welch, and the first United Methodist Church of Cocoa. Although they had no children of their own they helped many young people over the years with education and other endeavors, and supported vari ous missionary programs. Sarah was the last remaining of eight siblings, the most recent to pass away being Ina Simp son Payne of Cocoa in Novem ber 2001. Sarah is survived by nieces and nephews in Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio and Flori da. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Brevard Hospice and The Town Square Assisted Living Facility for the loving care and concern they provided Sarah. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25th, at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Satur day, May 26th, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.
