SARAH A. COOLEY BURLINGTON - Sarah Anne Cooley, 46, died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Nov. 22, 2008. Sarah was born on Aug. 7, 1962. Sarah graduated from South Burlington High School in 1980, and received a bachelor's degree in Nutrition from Cornell University in 1984. After graduation, Sarah was employed by the Merchants Bank in South Burlington for several years. For the past 16 years she was employed by the University of Vermont, most recently as a Senior Research Administrator in the office of Sponsored Programs. Sarah was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington for over 30 years and served as a Deaconess and on many other committees. Sarah was a person of many creative talents and was especially well known for her delectable desserts and quilting skills. While in high school Sarah was a member of the SBHS state champion track team, competing in shot-put and discus. Sarah leaves her parents David and Lois Cooley of Whitefield, N.H.; brother David and wife Nancy of Vassalboro, Maine; sister Carol of Williston; brother John and wife Sue of White River Junction, and twin sister Elizabeth Cooley and husband Steven of Peterborough, N.H. She also leaves 11 nieces and nephews and two grandnieces. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Burlington. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 12 p.m., in the First Baptist Church, 81 Saint Paul St., Burlington, VT 05401.
