She was a graduate of Long Creek Baptist Academy and salutatorian of her class. An active member of Augusta Heights Baptist Church and former teacher of the Ann Lawton Bible class, she was also a member of the Ladies Bible Class at Trinity Methodist as long as her health permitted. Her ambition was to be a good Mother and Grandmother. She fulfilled that desire and loved her family with all her heart, and in return they loved her just as much. Her children and grandchildren have been blessed with memories of her sense of humor, her kindness, her strength of character, her good cooking skills, her love and deep devotion to her family and her God. Her wish to her children and their families is that they continue to lead full and happy lives as the way to honor her memory. In addition to her loving husband, Sara is survived by three daughters, Linda T. Whitt and her husband Tom of Greenville, Nancy T. Neal and her husband Mike of Colerain, N.C., and Tina Redenz and her husband Joe of Greer; two grandchildren, T.J. She was preceded in death by her first husband, J. Fred Trotter; infant granddaughter Whitt; brothers, Wade, Glenn, Furman Jr. and Howard; and sisters, Mabel Lytle and Madge Gerrard. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to extend sincerest thanks to her caregivers, especially Marie, Dee, Anna and Lisa, who were so devoted, as well as appreciation to the staff of Open Arms Hospice, especially Caroline, Donna, Tiffany, Sandy and Barbara.
