ALLEN Sara Pauline Allen, age 100, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, in her residence. Mrs. Allen was born in Dalmatia, Pa. and was a Monroe resident for 50 years. She was a retired employee of the Underwood Corporation, where she worked with her late husband, John Allen. Mrs. Allen and her husband also owned and operated a bakery. Sara loved good conversation, cooking, baking and gardening. She also loved to sew and do crafts. She was a member of the Stephey Baptist Church and Monroe Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husband John; a son, John Allen Jr; a brother, Warren Wald; her parents, Frank and Susan Wald; and a step mother, Bertha Wald. Survivors include one grandson, Scott Allen of Port Washington, N.Y., two great-grandsons, Sean and Jesse Allen; and other relatives that include Terry Eagle, Betty Rubin, Jodi Brocks and family and many longtime friends and neighbors. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, March 31, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Burial will be in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Their will be no prior calling hours.
