Sara Betty Smith Sara Betty Smith, 80, daughter of the late William Robert and Maude C. (nee Howell) Jones, peacefully departed this life Friday, May 21, while a resident at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township. Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 23, 1929 in Salem and moved to Bridgeton several years ago. She was a member of the Trinity Holiness Church Fordville, where she was church mother, missionary, usher and choir member. She was a practical nurse, having been employed by the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. Sara leaves to cherish her memory her children, Marie Ford Pitts, of Bridgeton, Ruth E. Smith, of Decator, Ga., Bobbie Tremaine, of California, Wayne A. Smith, of Salem, and Lillian Anita King, of Athens, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Joan Cottingham; and other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 90 Baltimore Ave., Bridgeton. Interment will be in the Fernwood Cemetery, Shiloh.
