MACON, Ga. - Sara Ricks Allen, 77, passed away on Monday, November 01, 2010, at a local hospice facility. The funeral service and a celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Aubrey Sheats and the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice of Central Georgia, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210. Mrs. Allen was born on January 26, 1933, in Pearson, Ga., to the late Evelyn White Delk and the late Lewis Lamar Ricks. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, James Morris and Marvin Morris; and sister, JoAnne Higgs Wren. Mrs. Allen was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Pathfinders Sunday School Class and the Keenagers Senior Adult Ministry. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her friends and family. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Alvin B. Allen of Macon; sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd (Karen) Allen of Macon, Ricky (Susan) Allen of Statesboro, Mark (Susan) Allen of Sandersville and Andy (Diana) Allen of Rome; grandchildren, Kristy (Justin) Mobley, April (Eric) Prosser, Adam (Ember) Allen and Ashley (Matt) Summers; stepmother, Beatrice Ricks; sister, Linda (Raymond) Cummings; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
