BELLEGARDE , Sandra Louise "Kokum" "Mountainspiritwoman" 1953 - 2009 Sandy "Kokum" Bellegarde passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the age of 55 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Michelle Bellegarde, of Calgary, Vanessa (Luis) Cofre and Waylon (Kyla) Bellegarde, both of Airdrie; grandchildren, Jacob, Nolan, Ocean, Nora and Oscar; father Michael Yuzicapi; brother Robert (Margaret) of Alberta; sisters, Susanne (Lloyd), Elizabeth (Pat), Francis (Tony), Beatrice (Maynard), Debbie, Joyce (Joe), all of Saskatchewan, and Cheryl (Rod), of Alberta; traditional family Manybears/Manyheads family; and many more family and friends. Sandy was predeceased by her husband of twenty-five years David Sparvier; mother Genevieve Yuzicapi; and brothers Richard and William Yuzicapi. Sandy will be remembered most by her family for being a great mother and grandmother, as they were the love of her life. She loved to cook and work in the garden and spent some of her free time playing Bingo. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Unit 36 and the ICU at the Foothills Hospital for the great care they took of their mother. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 44 Street and 16 Avenue S.E., on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dominic Phamvanbao, OP. celebrant.
