City Auto StampingWINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Samuel Gordon Van Horn of Winter Haven died of cancer Thursday (July 21, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 82.Born Aug. 15, 1922, in Curtain, W.Va., Mr. Van Horn came here from Ohio in 1987. He worked for City Auto Stamping in Toledo, Ohio. He served with the Army in World War II and earned the Purple Heart medal. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Winter Haven, where he served as the deacon, financial secretary and director of widow's care.Mr. Van Horn is survived by his wife, Geneva Van Horn, Winter Haven; son, Albert Van Horn, Atawa Lake, Mich.; sisters, Lenore Sheller and Jean Hamer, both of Phoenix; two grandsons.Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church, Winter Haven.
