<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Sallie Anne Florence Guin Fleming, age 78, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital, with her children beside her, on April 24, 2014. She was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Florence. Raised in Birmingham, Sallie attended Glen Iris Elementary and Ramsey High Schools. Always active in the Episcopal Church, Sallie was a founding member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Huffman and then St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Cahaba Heights after she moved to Mountain Brook. In the early 1980's, children grown, Sallie embarked on a new chapter in her life moving to Grayton Beach, Florida where she continued applying her many talents such as gardening, French hand sewing, and even became an avid golfer. She served as President of Santa Rosa Beach & Golf Club. It was there she met and eventually married C. Warren Fleming. Sallie enjoyed life to the fullest. She was funny and her zeal for life was her family's greatest joy. Sallie was preceded in death by her husband C. Warren Fleming. She is survived by her three children, William C. Guin, Jr. (Pat), Anne-Marie Guin Brown (Pratt), Gail Guin Braswell (Chip); nine grandchildren, Sarah Guin Nance (T.J.), David Guin (Kari), Jared Guin, Jacob Guin, Campbell Brown Marshall (Jordan), Virginia Brown, Gail Brown, Chris Braswell, Joseph Braswell (Abby); four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Nance, Michael Nance, Sam Guin and Camilla Marshall; three special cousins, Carol Ann Hurst, Steve Florence and Lauren Striplin; step-son, Tad Fleming and Daisy Arnold a devoted caregiver and friend. Sallie had a special place in her heart for Camp McDowell, an Episcopal Church camp. Her happiest childhood memories were of summers spent at camp, she started as a camper in her pre-teens and then later served on many summer camp staffs. She remained an ardent supporter throughout her life, giving of her time and resources. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to Camp McDowell -Sallie Guin Fleming Scholarship Memorial-, 105 Delong Road, Nauvoo, AL 35578. Funeral services will be Tuesday May 6th at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral Church of the Advent. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10 a.m.
