STEPHANIE JEAN ROGERS September 17, 1949 - March 9, 2015 Peacefully in Oakville after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved wife to Donald Rogers. Loving mother to Stephen (Wendy), Christopher (Steph), Daniel (Anna), Rebekah (David) and Jenna. Grammy to Crosby, Sienna, Hudson, Luke, Colton and William. Daughter of William and Dora Tysoe (Mainwaring) and sister to Mike Tysoe (Shelley) and Ron Tysoe (Arleigh). Stephanie ("Steph") was born in Montreal and raised in Vancouver with her parents and two brothers. It was while working at the Hudson's Bay Company in Vancouver that Steph met Don. They had an instant chemistry together, fell in love and were married within a year and remained happily married for over 40 years. Steph balanced life as a school teacher while raising five children with unconditional love and support. She earned a Masters in Education and two Masters in Psychology from the University of Toronto and Brock University and became devoted to helping others as a family counsellor at the Christian based Chartwell Institute for Care and Counselling, Oakville. Steph lived a selfless life that was focused on her family, her faith and supporting all those in need. Her friends and family will remember Steph for her compassion, determination and strength. During Steph's recent health challenges, she maintained her sense of humour, her love and care for her family and her faith in God. Steph will be forever missed by her adoring husband, her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and her many friends. Family and friends may visit at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville (Dundas/403) on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 4 - 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship in the Glen Oaks Lounge. Private family interment to take place in Bethel Cemetery, Gravenhurst, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
