CASEY, O.S.U., SR. JEAN MARIE Sr. Jean Marie Casey, osu died on Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Ursuline Province Infirmary located at Andrus House, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Born in Toledo, OH, on January 1, 1906, she was the daughter of James and Nora Sullivan Casey. A graduate of Mary Manse College in Ohio, class of 1927, Sr. Jean Marie received an M.A. in Religious Education in 1940 from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Sister entered the Ursuline Order in July, 1927, made her religious profession in January, 1930, and spent many years teaching at Blessed Sacrament School, Ursuline Academy in Boston, and The College of New Rochelle. During her long career at the College she filled various teaching and administrative posts including Dean of Students, Director of Admissions, Director of Financial Aid, and Registrar at the School of New Resources. After retiring from ministry in schools, she became an active participant in the Literacy Volunteers of American and in the Meels on Wheels program in New Rochelle. In her Ursuline community Sister Jean Marie was ever present, known for her humorous, quick repartee, a blithe spirit who brought joy to our lives. She was predeceased by her sister, Sister Marie Louise Casey, osu, and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be on Thursday, October 27th at 11 AM, in the chapel of The College of New Rochelle. The wake will be at the Ursuline Convent, 39 Willow Drive, New Rochelle, on Wednesday, October 26th, from 3- 8 PM.
