Rutha Mae Brown Harris Rutha Mae Brown Harris, 82, a retired nursing assistant, died Sunday, November 18, 2007. The service will be at 11 a.m. EST Saturday, Nov. 24, at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church No. 1, with burial at the church cemetery. Strong & Jones Funeral Home (850-224-2139) is handling arrangements.Mother Harris was a dedicated member of Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church No. 1, where she attended church school, prayer meeting, Bible study and other church functions. She also served as chairman of the Mother's Board. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Everlena Harris Baulkmon and Catherine Spratt, both of Tallahassee; four sons, Harry Brown (Hazella), James Harris (Zimmie), both of Tallahassee, Nathaniel Harris (Ana Maria) of Bolivia, South America, and Tony Harris (Paula) of Fort Lauderdale; a son-in-law, William McGuire, and a sister, Verneda Thompson, both of Tallahassee; a sister-in-law, Gail Brown of Tallahassee; two aunts; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two nieces; a nephew; and a host of cousins and friends.
