Ruth Phyllis Smith, 81, of Gales Ferry, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, February 10, 2013 surrounded by family. Phyllis was born November 13, 1931 in Acton Mass, the daughter of Vernon and Dorothy Smith of Acton. She is survived by her children Steven French, Norwich; Debra Hanley, Fairfax VA; Sherrie Biscuti, Noank; Dennis French, Seneca SC; Denise French-Fater, Savannah GA; her sister, Norma Smith, Acton; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grand-daughter. She is pre-deceased by her brother Ronald Smith and sister Muriel Lombardo of Acton MA. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at United Methodist Church of Gales Ferry on February 23rd at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Center for Hospice Care, 227 Dunham Street, Norwich CT 06360.
