SMITH, Ruth Mary (nee Hayhoe)Born September 22, 1917, at 32 Bellwood Ave, Ottawa, her home for 94 years.With her Lord - on November 9, 2011, at the May Court Hospice, to whose staff we owe many thanks for loving care.Ruth has greatly blessed, and will be much missed by her sons Harold (Mary) and Clifford (Teri); her grandchildren Matthew, Nathan, Timothy, Amy Jo, Marita, Thomas (Pam), Daniel and Sarah; by the many friends whom she visited right up until her recent hospitalization; and by many others who knew her as 'Grandma Smith', writer of innumerable cards and letters, and author of four Bible story books. She is now rejoicing in the company of her precious Saviour Jesus Christ, and in being reunited with loved ones who have 'gone before' - her beloved husband Albert, her parents Henry & Irene Hayhoe, her brothers Charles, Gordon and Albert, and her sister Ethel. Near the end Ruth said, "If we believe in the Lord Jesus, we have the promise of joy with Him after death; but we don't have to die to enjoy His presence." Friends are invited to visit at the central chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor), Ottawa, Friday, November 11 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at Rideauview Bible Chapel on Saturday, November 12 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the chapel and interment at Pinecrest cemetery. In lieu of flowers, she requested that friends 'feel free to donate wherever the Lord leads them.'
