-->Ruth S. Edwards LAURENS, SC-- Ruth Smith Edwards, 73, of 104 Lemon Tree Trail, wife of Richard B. Edwards, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Laurens County Hospital. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin E. and Mary Madora Wofford Smith. She was a retired paralegal with Culbertson, Turner, Whiteside, and Able. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher of the Dorcas Class, member of WMU, and ADY. Surviving in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Sharon Edwards Vincent and husband, Terry, of Laurens and Angela Edwards Roache and husband, Tony, of Pelzer; one brother, Joe Smith of Woodruff; five sisters, Hazel Rogers of Greer, Thelma Blanton of Cross Anchor, Mary Ann Waddell and Amy Sloan both of Woodruff, and Janice Roberson of Liberty; three grandchildren, Carter Vincent, Austin Roache, and Audrey Roache. She was predeceased by three brothers, Harold Smith, Frank Smith, and Wayne Smith. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bob Cato with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary Tuesday from 7:00-8:30 PM.
