PETERS, Dr. Ruth 60, psychologist, author and television personality, died Aug. 7, 2010, in Clearwater. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Timothy; her daughter, Lindsay Sinclair (Matthew) of Safety Harbor; son, Christopher Peters (Sandy) of Jacksonville and grandson Aaden Sinclair. Dr. Peters received bachelors and masters degrees in psychology from the University of Florida. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of South Florida. She maintained a private practice in Clearwater since 1977, dealing with primarily with children, adolescents, and parenting issues. For many years Dr. Peters had been a contributor to the Today Show. Funeral services have been conducted.
