SPARTANBURG, SC-- Ruth McDaniel Smith, 89, of White Oak Manor, Spartanburg, died June 3, 2006, at White Oak Manor, Spartanburg. She was the wife of the late Ray Smith. Born in Smyrna, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Alvin and Selena Alexander McDaniel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cowpens, a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, and a retired textile worker.Survivors include one son, Dan Smith of Spartanburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Guy and Marvin McDaniel of Hickory Grove. She was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Smith, and two brothers, Leslie and Charles McDaniel.Visitation is 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday night at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home Downtown. The graveside service is 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6 at the Daniel Morgan Cemetery in Cowpens, officiated by Dr. M. B.
