RUTH MARY STOKES DYER, IN Ruth Mary Stokes, age 87, of Dyer, IN passed away peacefully on January 27, 2015, at WJ Riley Memorial Residence with her loving family at her side. Ruth was born July 17, 1927, Rosiclare, IL to the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Zimmer) Humm. Also preceding in death are her husband, Euel Stokes, of 47 years of marriage, who passed away in 2001, and three sisters. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters: Elizabeth "Libby" (Anthony) Ramirez, Gina (Dave) Betz, grandchildren Michael (fiancé Nikki Chiattello) Ramirez and Lisa (fiancé Brandon Walker) Ramirez. Mrs. Stokes was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her husband Euel and she were always together enjoying their love, their marriage and their family. She volunteered her time and talents to the St. Joseph Catholic School in Dyer for many years. Ruth was a lover of music, dancing, laughter and making others happy. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375) with Fr. Theodore Mens officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
