Ruth Jean Steiner Bennett, 75, of Stadium Drive, Westminster, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at Anderson Area Medical Center. A native of Clay County, Ky., Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of the late Henry "Jack" and Edith Jenkins Steiner. She was twice married, first to the late Peter J. Steinbach, and presently to Billy J. Bennett. She was an employee of Jamison Inn in Seneca, and was a member of Arabian Horse Association. She enjoyed working and caring for her beloved horses as well as her love of trees and nature. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Michael Bruce Steinbach, of Westminster; daughters, Karen Marie Lee, and husband, Norman, of Westminster, and Barbara Jean Dorsey, and husband, Lewis, of Walhalla; a brother, Larry Steiner, of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Tyra Blackshear, and husband, Calvin, Jeremy Garacci, and wife, Michelle, Asher Coombs and Vince Snell, and wife, Suzanne; and great-grandchildren, Susan Welch, Natasha Lee and Noah Garacci. In addition to her first husband and parents, brothers, Donald and Douglas Steiner; half brother, Kenneth Paulsteine; and half sister, Doris McLeod; predeceased Mrs. Bennett. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003, in the chapel of Davenport Funeral Home, with burial at Big Oak Farm Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made, to the Humane Society; or to the Nature Conservancy. The family is at the residence.
