ANDERSSON (Jackart), Ruth Jean September 17, 1949 - January 10, 2011 We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth after a two year courageous battle with cancer. She was greatly cherished and will always be remembered by her husband of 36 years Bjorn, son Dan (Stacey), daughter Kate (Joel), mother Jean, brothers Doug and Mike (Anna), grandchildren Cole and Reid, and many family and friends in Canada and overseas. Ruth is predeceased by father Helaire (Jack) and twin brother David. Ruth was born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and lived and worked in Thunder Bay, Sweden and Fredericton before moving with her family to Richmond. She will always be remembered for her kindness and concern for her family and friends. She was determined to beat her cancer, felt blessed by the treatment she received from her oncologist Dr. Karen Gelmon and naturopath Dr. Eric Chan, and wanted to help others by participating in clinical trials. The family thanks all of those who supported Ruth during her sickness and especially the caring and compassionate staff at the BC Cancer Agency and the Richmond Hospital palliative care unit. A private memorial service will be held at the Richmond Funeral Home for her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the BC Cancer Agency is greatly appreciated.
