HILL, Ruth Marie Martha (nee Lauer) (Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society) Peacefully on her 94th birthday, Tuesday, April 2, 2009 at the Colonel By Retirement Home, Ottawa, ON. Beloved wife of the late Claude Arthur. Loving mother of Johannes (Inez Kettles), and Claudia Chowaniec (Adam). Dear Oma to Christina, Alexandra, Peter and Thomas. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ruth was born in St. Goarshausen, Germany and came to Smith's Falls, ON, as a war bride from Holland in 1946. At the age of 48 she graduated from the first Registered Nursing Assistant program at Brockville General Hospital. Funeral Service will be held at Glebe St. James United Church, 650 Lyon Street South, Ottawa, (between Glebe Avenue and First Avenue) on Monday, April 6 at 4 o'clock. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, (hwy 416 South to hwy 401 West, Maitland exit 2451 County Road 15, North of hwy 401) on Tuesday, April 7 at 11 o'clock.
