CATSKILL Ruth Helen Brooks, age 91, of Catskill, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at her residence following a long illness. She was born in Coeymans on July 3, 1913 to the late William and Louisa Wildt Schoonmaker. She was employed as a seamstress at the Atlanta Knitting Mills in Athens for many years and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her six children, Joan Bullis of Castleton, Mrs. David (Joyce) Teator of Hudson, Ray Brooks of Athens, George Brooks of Clifton Park, Walter Brooks of Kinderhook, and Mrs. Dennis (Karen) Templeton of Catskill; 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; her brother, William Schoonmaker of N.J. as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray Carlton Brooks in 1954, in addition to four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9 at 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 50 William Street in Catskill with interment following in the Town of Catskill Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill on Sunday, May 8 from 4 to 8 p.m.
