JOHNSON EAST CHICAGO, IN Ruth Evelyn Johnson, age 58, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014. was born April 17, 1955 to Mrs. She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Jean Johnson of East Chicago, IN; two sons: Timothy Johnson of East Chicago, IN and Joseph Simmons of East Chicago, IN; daughter LaKeisha Simmons of East Chicago, IN; nine grandchildren; brother, Joseph Johnson of St. Louis, MI; aunt, Annie Lou Harris of Jackson, TN; uncle Marvin Rogers of Jackson, TN; niece, Kimberly Johnson of Indianapolis, IN and devoted friend, Pearlie Mae McGee. She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents: brother, Willy Rae Johnson and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Faith Temple COGIC, 3711 Pennsylvania Ave., East Chicago, IN at 11:00 AM with Elder David Blakely officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Divinity Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
