Ruth Ellen Lee - LAVONIA - Ruth Ellen Lee, 78, of Lavonia, GA formerly of Stone Mountain, GA, and Madisonville, TN, died on April 8, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ernest W. Lee; daughters, Daphne Haley (Gary), McDonough; Karen Waddell (Jim), Fayetteville; Tanya Lee, Savannah; and son, Ernest W Lee II, (Holland Morgan), Savannah; sister, Judy Lee and brother, Tom Burris of Madisonville, TN; grandchildren Jessica Hardin, Asheville, NC; Whitney Negrea (Dragosh), Savannah, GA; John Tyler Hardin, Lake Tahoe, CA, and, JC Waddell, Fayetteville, GA. The Service of Resurrection will be held at Strickland Funeral Home in Lavonia at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 10, 2010. Burial will follow in the Providence UMC Cemetery, Lavonia. An additional memorial service will be held at the Center Presbyterian Church, Tellico Plains, TN, Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Ben Marion Institute for Social Justice, Inc.; Providence UMC, Lavonia, GA; or St. Mary's Hospice, Athens, GA.
