EAST BARNARD - Ruth Emily Paige died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009. She was born at the family home on June 20, 1914, the youngest daughter of Inez Ellis Paige and Osborne Ashley Paige. She attended high school in South Royalton and completed it at the Montpelier Seminary.She was employed as a housekeeper for many years. She pursued lifelong interests in art and music. She is survived by her niece Paige Gibbs of Westport, Mass., her niece Sarah Beebe of Barre, her nephew Osborne Gibbs of Bloomfield, Conn., and a great-niece and four great-nephews.She was predeceased by her sisters Margaret Paige Gibbs and Mildred and Evelyn Paige.The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at the East Barnard Church. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Broad Brook Scholarship Foundation or to the Lucy McKenzie Humane Society.
