Ruth Elizabeth Morgan Coleman, 94, of 651 Highway 25N, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late James Garfield and Sallie Batson Morgan. Mrs. Coleman was a member of The First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest, former Sunday School Teacher, and member of the Women's Missionary Union. She was also a charter member of the Mountain Laurel Garden Club. Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn Coleman of Travelers Rest; son, Robert Coleman and wife, Lib, of Travelers Rest; four grandchildren, Deborah C. Batson and husband, Dennis, of Travelers Rest, Nancy C. Plumblee and husband, Jeff, of Greenville, Bobby Coleman of Travelers Rest, and Henry Coleman and wife, Angela, of Spartanburg; 10 great-grandchildren, Scotty Batson of Greenville, Stacie, Sandi and Sara Batson, all of Travelers Rest, J.J. Plumblee of Greenville, Ashley Coleman of Travelers Rest, Amanda Coleman of Spartanburg, Alex Coleman of Gray Court, Nichole and Daniel Livengood of Marietta; and a great-great-grandchild, Sierra Livengood.She was predeceased by two brothers, Blane Morgan and J.G. Morgan; and four sisters, Frances Morgan Clark, Gladys Morgan Lindsey, Grace Morgan Drummond, and Lallie Morgan Stevens.Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest, with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.The family will be at 701 Highway 25N, Travelers Rest.Memorials may be made to Travelers Rest First Baptist Church, 20 McElhaney Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690-0179.The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
