Ruth Ellen Weeks Carroll, 88, of 7 Elmwood Ave., died Wednesday, June 30, 2004. Widow of Lee Kendrick Carroll, she was born in Laurens, the daughter of the late Lee D. and Grace Eula Goodman Weeks, and a stepmother, the late Eva Frances Weeks. Mrs. Carroll was a retired employee of J.C. Penney, and had also worked for Judson Mills for 25 years. She was a member of Judson Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Frances "Kennie" Carroll, of Piedmont; a sister, Grace Ouzts, of Greenville; a brother, Ray Frank Weeks, of Woodvale, Ill.; and a grandson, Ron L. Minton, and his wife, Melinda, of Taylors. She was predeceased by brothers, Rossie, R.V., and James Weeks. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Family members are at the home of the sister: Grace Ouzts, 2400 Old Easley Bridge Road.
