Ruth Cadby Johnson died on May 13, 2011, at her home in Florida, at the age of 79. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, at the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, Caldwell, N.J., at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in care of the Dancy Funeral Home, Caldwell. Born and raised in Verona, N.J., Mrs. Johnson lived in Essex Fells, N.J., for the past 53 years. She graduated from Wilson College in 1953, where she studied art and psychology. An accomplished artist, her painting of a campus scene was selected as the theme for the college's 100th anniversary. She worked as a business executive in two family businesses--a real estate holding company and Verner-Cadby Ford. She was a member of the Essex Fells Country Club, the Garden Club of Essex Fells, and the Sandpipers in Florida. Ruth was the loving wife of Harold B. "Skip" Johnson for 59 years. She also leaves behind her son, Guy C. Johnson, his wife, Pam Altman, and their children, Eli and Kenna, and her daughter, Susan J. Dusinberre, her husband, Jack, and children Tyler and Brian. In lieu of flowers, donations to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, Fla. 33790 would be appreciated.
