SchoolteacherBARTOW -- Ms. Ruth Brooks of Bartow died of heart failure Wednesday (Nov. 3, 2004) at The Rohr Home. She was 96.Born Dec. 29, 1907, in Buffalo, Mo., she came here from Nashville, Tenn., in 1945. She was a teacher at Floral Avenue Elementary School, Auburndale Elementary School and Gibbons Street Elementary School.Ms. Brooks is survived by her friend, Grace Clayton, Bartow; and three nephews.Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. Services will follow at 10 a.m. at the gardens.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross. Lakeland Funeral Home.
