RUTH ATHLEEN CARROLL, 95 MICHIGAN- Ruth Athleen Carroll, age 95 of West Branch, Michigan, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at Bortz Health Care of West Branch. She had been a resident of West Branch since 1937, formerly of Capac. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the First United Methodist Church both of West Branch. Athleen managed the school cafeteria in West Branch for many years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, arts and crafts, doing handiwork, traveling and cooking. Survivors include her children, Bob (Lee) Carroll and Elizabeth "Betty" Campbell both of St. Helen, Michigan and Jim Carroll of West Branch. 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll, her son, George Carroll and her daughters in law, Barbara Brandel Carroll and Janie Carroll and 8 brothers and sisters. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 5-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 1-8 p.m. The Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the St. Helen Community Baptist Church. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
