PETERS Russell Martin Peters, Sr., 71, passed away on Friday April 16, 2010. He was born in Jacksonville and lived in the Garden City area before moving to Oceanway. He was a member of Hollyford Baptist Church. His hobbies were visiting flea markets, fishing, and collecting pocket knives. Mr. Peters was a self employed building contractor. He was the son of the late Martin and Helen Childers Peters. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda Gunter Peters; sons, Mark Peters (Karen), Danny Peters, and Tony Peters all of Jacksonville; daughter, Nancy Green (Neil) of Jacksonville; brother, Walter Peters (Charlene) of Savannah, GA; sister, Patsy Horton (Gene) of Jacksonville; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, at 3pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Glenn Cathey officiating.
