COLLINS, Russell April 3, 1928 - February 13, 2011 Born in Portage la Prairie, MB on April 3, 1928. Passed away on February 13, 2011. Russ was raised in Prince Albert, SK and Edmonton, AB. He joined the air force in 1946 and went on to work in northern B.C. as a radio operator as well as a stint on the weather ship St. Catherine's out of Esquimalt He became an air traffic controller in 1956 based in Edmonton. In 1971, he moved his young family to Richmond, BC. Russ is predeceased by his wife Agnes (O'Brien) in 1980. He is survived by his 3 daughters, 1 son, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 28 at Christ the Redeemer Church in West Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Fund.
