HARRIS, Ruby Turner 86, of Tampa, passed away at her home on May 29, 2012. Ruby was born in Coats, NC, a graduate of Coats High School (1942) and was a member of the Coats Baptist Church. She and her husband, James, moved to the Tampa area in 1972 after he retired from the Army with 25 years of service. Ruby is survived by her loving children; son, James Harris III (Tampa); and daughter, Katherine Martin (Atlanta, GA); and husband, Larry; three grandchildren, Robert and Gordon Harris and Alexandra Martin; one great- granddaughter, Hailey Harris; brother, Laverne "Bud" Turner; three sisters, Evelyn Ferguson, Madeline Holloman and Carolyn Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harris Jr. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 2-4 pm at the Blount & Curry West Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa, where a service of remembrance will be held at 4 pm.
