TODD Ruby Todd, age 82, widow of James Todd, both longtime residents of Fairfield, died peacefully on December 13, 2006 in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Born Ruby Anne Smith in Lynchburg, S.C., she and James were married for nearly 61 years. Ruby had six older brothers and sisters and is survived by her three children, Robert and Carolyn Todd of Shelton, Carol and Robert Washburn of Ft. Wayne and James and Susan Todd of Hawthorn Woods, Ill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ruby was an active volunteer for both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts which she served for many years. She was employed by the Fairfield Town Crier and the Fairfield Board of Education in addition to her voluntary contributions to First Church, Congregational and the public schools of Fairfield. In accordance with their wishes, the ashes of both Ruby and James will be interred together in Oak Lawn Cemetery in the springtime. An announcement of the date of internment will be published here for those who wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the charity of one's choice will be appreciated.
