Ruby Lee Johnson, 80, Durham, N.C., formerly of Sarasota, died Sept. 22, 2006, in Durham. She was born July 29, 1926, in Lawtey and came to Sarasota in the 1960s from Boca Grande. She retired as a housekeeper and was a member of Mt. Tabor M.B. Church. Survivors include sons Johnny of Sarasota, and Barry and Larry, both of Durham; daughters Mildred Bryant-Barbee and Carolyn Willis, both of Durham, and Faye Stevenson of Bradenton; sisters Mable Gathers and Ollie M. Blake, both of Charleston, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Tabor M.B. Church. Burial will be in Galilee Cemetery.
