Ruby Isabella Nielsen Clark, 99 WESTBROOK -- Ruby Isabella Nielsen Clark, 99, of Larrabee Village, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Cedars Health Care. She was born in Westbrook, the daughter of Rasmus and Hilda Anderson Nielsen. She was raised, educated and resided in Westbrook for most of her life. She was a 1927 graduate and Salutatorian of Gorham High School. Ruby has been employed by New England Telephone and Sebago Moc for many years, retiring in 1972. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. She was active in Civic affairs, she was instrumental in getting the Saccarappa School built and as President of the Senior Citizens, the Springbrook Health Care facility. She was a loving mother and grandmother, an avid bridge player and a member of Paul's Pals and Lila's Angels, which were singing groups that entertained at local functions. Her husband of 42 years, Edward W. Clark Sr., died in 1973. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Carol Joyce Clark, and a son, Edward W. Clark Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Victoria Hamilton of Gorham, Janice Brawn of Standish, a son Nielsen Clark of Englewood, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
