Ruby I. Johnsonof Springville, Pa. Ruby I. Johnson, 75, of Springville, Pa., passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at Gracious Living Estates. She was born in Springville, Pa. to the late Bela Giffin Garrison and his wife, the former Louise Charity Mack. Ruby retired from the First National Bank of Nicholson, where she worked for many years and was a member of the Always in Stitches Quilt Group. She enjoyed gardening and making quilts; she cooked and baked for her family and friends and was famous for her homemade soups. Ruby loved her craft shows, and her dogs and feeding the wild birds. Recently Ruby also made over a hundred quilt blocks for Project DJ (a non-profit organization for ill children). She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Gary E. and Shirley Johnson, Springville, Pa., Diane L. and Robert Secor, Tunkhannock, Pa., Nancy Johnson-Srebro and husband, Frank Srebro, Tunkhannock, Pa., Edward I Jr., and Judy Johnson, Montrose, Pa.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Ruth Garrison, Beaver Springs, Pa., William and Emma Garrison, Moscow, Pa.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Doris and Gary Ward, Springville, Pa., Beatrice Cox, Bonita Springs, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Edward I. Johnson; six brothers, Lee, Lawrence, Donald, Lewis, Bruce, and Benton Garrison; and one sister, Bonnie Tewksbury.A Graveside Service will be held in the Spring at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock, Pa.
