She had worked for Zettwock-Fortner, Gibson Pfannenschmidt, then most recently Coldwell Bankers Foremost. She was a devoted member of Highland Park Christian Church and Renewed Christian Fellowship. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hayes Jr.; and a grandson, Hunter Hayes. She is survived by her daughters, Melinda Elder and Connie Hayes-Badon (Andrew Badon); son, Steve Hayes (Tammy); grandchildren, Greg Vance (Angela), Dusty Elder, Harlie Hayes, Sydney Badon and Samantha Badon; great-grandchildren, Gabe and Greyson Vance; and sister, Mary Sue Pile (Franklin) The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Drive, with burial in Cave Springs United Methodist Church, Westview, KY. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rattermans.
