Morris, Ruby Elizabeth, a resident of Dothan, AL died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Northwest Florida Rehab and Nursing Center in Graceville, Florida. She was 93. Mrs. Morris was born April 19, 1915 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of John Willard Hayes and Rebecca Ruth Perry Hayes. She was a resident of Hollywood, Florida for 71 years prior to moving to Dothan in 2006. Mrs. Morris was a loving mother and homemaker to five children. Because of her great love for children, she spent her retirement years working as a School Crossing Guard for 15 years. She was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church. Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leonard Ray Morris. Survivors include three daughters, Betty and Don Apple and Martha Morris both of Rockville, IN, and Sarah T. and Jorgen Svendsen, Fremont, CA; two sons, James Morris, Dothan, AL, Ray and Sandy Morris, Bithlo, FL; nine grandchildren: Nancy and Bob Eldridge, David Morris, Cindy and Rusty Smith, Karen and Keven Kruger, Kurt and Mary Svendsen, Kirsten and Rick Sealana, Melissa and George Cooley, Judy and Richard Cabral, Butch Nelson; great-grandchildren: Jordan Eldridge, Jenadon Eldridge, Jessie Jordan, Tyler and Jessica Michael, Colby Smith, Ryan Church, Colin Kruger, Caroline Kruger, Hope Svendsen, Katelyn Sealana, Sion Cooley, Griffin Cooley, Candace Cabral; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, January 26, 2009 from 9 am to 10 am with Funeral Services at 10 am all at Fred Hunter's Taft Street location. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, FL. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Children's Hospital, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
