Ruby Clingan Williams, 71, Tuscumbia, Ala., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, after an extended illness.Visitation was Monday at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at Valdosta Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church one hour before services. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Joe Stone and Brother Rodney Clingan will officiate.Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John "Bud" Williams; two daughters, Cheryl Williams, of Muscle Shoals, Susan and husband, Larry Phillips, of Tuscumbia; one son, Kevin and wife, Cindy Williams, of Muscle Shoals; brother, Hubert and wife, Betty Clingan, of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Mildred and husband, Jim Royce, of Florence, Alice and husband, Homer Black, of Tuscumbia, Marie and husband, Bob Kubitza, of Tuscumbia, and Martha Canida, of Muscle Shoals; brother-in-law, W.C. Wilson; sisters-in-law, Peggy Wilson and Joan Clingan; six grandchildren, Lindsey (Steven) Vinson, Christopher McGuire, Ambra Thompson, Tori Williams, Amy (Matt) Inman and Andy Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Griffin Vinson, Coley Vinson and Rylee Inman; 21 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Connie Ledlow.She was preceded in death by her parents, Hosie and Elora Clingan; brothers, Lois Kingsley, Ivo, Junior, Ray and Larry Clingan; and sister, Louise Wilson.Mrs. Williams enjoyed serving her Lord by caring for others in her church family and community, especially cooking and sewing for family and friends. She was an active member of the Valdosta Baptist Church, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of TOPS.The Williams family would like to sincerely thank all of our family, friends and church members who supported us with their prayers and many acts of kindness. A special thank you to Northwest Alabama Cancer Center, A&E Hospice, Dr. Josh Vacik, Dr. Lynn Ridgeway and fourth-floor at Helen Keller Hospital.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Valdosta Baptist Church.Colbert Memorial Chapel is directing.
