Goodwin, age 84 of Franklin, TN, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014.Mr. Goodwin was born November 21, 1929 in Collierville, TN, son of the late R.T. Goodwin and Lizzie Harris Goodwin. Roy was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud member of Brentwood Baptist Church. He was the founder of Roy T. Goodwin Contractors, Inc., which has been successfully in business for 42 years. He enjoyed attending University of Tennessee football games, playing golf, fishing and hunting. His true passion was having quality time with his wife of 64 years, Betty Goodwin and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Curtis and Howard Goodwin; sister, Claudie Brown; and grandson, Travis Goodwin.Survivors include his wife, Betty Goodwin; daughter, Terry (V. Rev. Stephen) Rogers; son, Roy G. (Tish Balch) Goodwin; sisters, Myrtle Grace, Peggy Whitfield and Sue Nelson; grandchildren, Ashley (Dan) Kevorkian, Rachel Rogers, Katie (Adam) Roberts, Derrick (Page) Goodwin, Brannon (Erin) Goodwin, Nolen (Samantha) Balch; great-grandchildren, Steven, Hanneh and Elena Kevorkian, Julian, Evie and Audrey Roberts, Lola Balch, Kennedy Goodwin and Jake Ludovissie.A Celebration of Life service will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon Thursday, March 13, 2014 from Woodlawn's Dignity Hall, with the V. Rev. Stephen Rogers officiating. Interment will immediately follow from Woodlawn Memorial Park.Serving as Pallbearers are Brannon Goodwin, Derrick Goodwin, Nolen Balch, Dan and Steven Kevorkian and Adam Roberts.The family will receive friends at three o'clock in the afternoon until eight Wednesday, March 12, 2014 and from ten thirty until twelve-thirty on Thursday, from Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
