Smith, Rosemary NEW SCOTLAND Rosemary Desmond Smith, 72, of Picard Rd., died Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Born in Rensselaer, she was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany. Rosemary worked as a nurse at the Albany Medical Center, took time off to raise her family and then returned to nursing, working for 15 years at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rosemary was the wife of 50 years of Chester A. Smith; mother of Dennis J. (Peggy) Smith of Ballston Spa, Tracey Ann (David) Heald of North Berwick, Maine, Barry C. (Rosemary Meyer) Smith of Scotia and Craig A. Smith of Schenectady; grandmother of Shanna Striat, Justin Strait, Ian Smith, Shayne Smith, Kirstie Smith and Nicholas Smith; sister of the late Jackie Finch and Lorraine O'Toole. Also survived by three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, 2 Mercycare Lane, Guilderland, N.Y. 12084.
