January 26, 1943 - November 30, 2012Our Rosie passed away November 30 2012, with her loved ones at her bedside in Royal Alexander Hospital, Edmonton, AB.Rose was born in Hamilton, Ont, the eldest child of Walter and Mary Moses. She was educated in Hamilton, finished her Nursing Assistant Course in 1961, and married in June 1962 to Leroy Leveque of Centenary United Church where they were both in the choir. Rose worked in Hamilton hospitals until she and her 3 boys moved to BC in 1975. She then worked in nursing in Ladner, BC until her move to Edmonton (1979), to 1998.Rose received her Correctional Justice Diploma and Correctional Officer Basic Training and worked in Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre. Rose spent 2 years in Courtenay from 1998-2000, when she worked for the CAPC C program as cook. Devoted to her church, she volunteered all her life. Rose loved children and they loved her. She loved life and would try her hand at anything while offering her love and help to anyone who needed it. She was a Nanny for 5 years to 5 boys of a Pastor and his wife. They still call her "Mom" and "Grandma Moses".At the time of her passing, Rose was the Mother of 3, Grandmother of 11 & Great Grandmother of 1. We will miss Rose's laughter during family gatherings and celebrations; her love and giving of herself.Left with loving memories are sons Charles Leveque (Tracey), Cory Leveque (Shawna) both of Edmonton; Leroy Leveque (Sherri), Windsor, Ont; mother Mary Taylor, Courtenay, sisters Coral Tanner (Edward), Teresia Louden (Joseph), brothers Walter Moses (Sandra), CampbeIl River, David Moses (Helen) Oakville, Ont, Aunt Patricia Robinson and Uncle Marv, Bailieboro, Ont; Great Aunt Pat, York, England. Also many cousins, nephews and nieces in Vancouver, BC, Edmonton, AB, Hamilton, Oakville, Ancaster, Campbellford, and Ottawa, Ont.A church service & Celebration of Life was held Dec. 9, 2012 in Edmonton for Rose. Friends are invited to join the family at St. George's United Church Hall, Jan. 26 from 2-4 pm in celebration of Rose's life.
