July 3, 2013 at Bethany Manor following declining health at the age of 91.Born on May 19, 1922 in Elmira, Rose was the daughter of the late, Aldo & Mary Martine Cecchini. She married the love of her life, William "Bill" Davis on Nov. 4, 1944 and he predeceased her on Nov. 29, 2000. Rose was employed for many years by Chemung County Cooperative Extension as a bookkeeper. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Her many interests included playing cards, active on many bowling leagues, and precious time with her family.Surviving is her loving daughter, Mary Ann (Edward) Cleary, Elmira; grandchildren, Megan (Tom Salter) Cleary, Rochester; Matthew Cleary, Elmira; Molly (John) Brennan, Rochester; sister, Catherine (Duane) Padgett, Elmira; several nieces, nephews, and family friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was predeceased by her sister, Anna Fleming with husband, George; brother, Joseph Cecchini with and wives, Phyllis and Mary.Family and friends will be received at St. Mary's Church on Fri. July 5, 2013 from 12 noon - 1 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Burial at the family's convenience in Woodlawn National Cemetery where she will rest bedside her beloved Bill.
